This is going to be a short summary post of what happened Saturday night. More details will be forthcoming - Lauren’s got a ton of the information, and she’s on vacation this week. (Yeah, see how I just threw Lauren under the bus there? :))
In a word, the event was awesome. We anticipated around a hundred people to show up, but I think I can safely say we had closer to 160 people. The lower level and upper level of BLVD were packed. Great thanks to the folks at BLVD for hosting us, and staffing themselves outside of their normal business hours.
We had people from all over Texas, and I was surprised at the people who made the trek in from all over the United States. Diann & I flew in from Seattle, Morgan came from Ohio, Gino from Philly, Kevin and Jeremy from Louisiana, Julie from Oklahoma, Diana from Atlanta, Natalie from Chicago, Patti from Colorado, Jolene from San Diego, and Tommy from Tennessee. This list is just off the top of my head, there might be more. I like to think that our class helped the airline and hotel industries a bit this weekend! Here’s a map of where people out-of-state came from.
Anyhow, more details to come. I plan to setup a piece of the website to dedicate to people’s pictures, so if you had your camera there (and I saw lots of flashes going off), hang on to them and we’ll get them posted in a few days. More info to come in a few days! UPDATE: Clark Lara (our event photographer) has posted pictures for sale here!
